Storrington & District Twinning was delighted to host a visit from Villerest, our twin town in Rhone Alps.

Our friends were entertained for four days spending time with host families and visiting many local attractions we have here on our doorstep.

Of course our first visit with Storrington’s connection with storks was to Knepp Wilding where we were able to see up close the storks nests and many in flight. To round off the day we visited Smock Alley Vineyard for tour and tastings.

We continued to other historic places such as Chichester Cathedral, Bosham Church with connections to the Bayeux Tapestry, a coastal walk, lunch at the arc deco building of Brighton City Airport as well as Shoreham Lifeboats. We have been invited to visit Villerest next year to celebrate our 30th Anniversary.

Also joining us will be Cerrione, Italy who will be celebrating 20 years of twinning with Villerest. Storrington & District twinning signed a friendship agreement with Cerrione on 13th October 2012. This will be a very special event and something of an achievement today.
